These are deeply tied together across all sectors of industry, and every single level of government. To ignore these realities and pretend that they don't exist, or are in fact not an issue is a major disservice to the American People.\r\nMy first mission in Congress is to hold industrial titans accountable for artificial inflation, price gouging, and market manipulation across all sectors that stems from the \"promises\" made during Covid that high prices would be temporary during the shut down. The fact that these prices were neither temporary, and continue to rise is an affront to the American consumer!

It is no secret that ICE has acted outside of it's Congressional Mandate of Immigration Enforcement, or that their duties were fully reliant upon Judicial Warrants to justify their interactions with immigrants. It is further apparent, that ICE attacking American Citizen's, door to door searches, racial profiling, and extrajudicial murder far exceeds their mandate and violates dozens of federal statutes and no less than 6 Constitutional Amendments.\r\n\r\nICE is a lawless, paramilitary force, that is engaging in Domestic Terrorism on American soil, against American citizens, in American Cities. My goal is to abolish ICE, and BPD, reallocate their funds to public services, and prosecute all members of those agencies for their many crimes.

Although the Epstein Files are slowly being released, and the horrors contained within are making their way into our social media news feeds, the distinct lack of arrests, charges, or any accountability being taken against American politicians, Judges, or Business leaders is abhorrent. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office? The main issue Americans face today is the rising cost of living and the prohibitive cost of housing. Which is why, as Congressman, my mission will be to ensure that every single person named in these files are arrested, charged, tried, and sentenced accordingly.\r\n\r\nWe cannot have a Democracy if the most corrupt, compromised individuals in American history are in charge of every facet of government including the Justice Department, and the Executive Branch. What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Despite my 3 key messages focusing on the corruption of government, ICE, and our struggling economy, the public policy I happen to be most passionate about is actually infrastructure. A nation lives and dies based on its' ability to transport good, people, and communication. If a nation struggles to do any one of those 3 things, that nation ultimately struggles to sustain itself and collapses under pressure. Therefore, in my humble opinion modernizing every facet of our infrastructure, making it publicly owned and operated, and expanding it as much as possible is the best way to ensure America remains a Global Power!\nNote: Ballotpedia reserves the right to edit Candidate Connection survey responses. He is a fierce advocate for Labor rights, and Corporate Reform. He believes in the power of education and is committed to improving public schools, reducing student debt, and making college more affordable. He also supports efforts to combat climate change, protect the environment, and invest in renewable energy sources. He is an advocate for civil rights and social justice and is committed to protecting the rights of all citizens. He also believes in fiscal responsibility and is a proponent of sensible budgeting and reducing wasteful spending. POLICE REFORMS Federalization of Policing Standards It's time for meaningful change. Our communities deserve better, and we must begin demanding higher standards from our law enforcement agencies. Implementing federal policing standards is a crucial step toward ensuring accountability, transparency, and equal justice for all. By establishing consistent national guidelines, we can help ensure that every officer is held to the same high standards, regardless of where they serve. Now is the time to act - let’s urge our leaders to take a stand for fairness, justice, and integrity. Refocus on Criminal Issues In today's complex and ever-changing world, the role of law enforcement is more vital than ever. To meet the complex challenges they face each day, police officers must be thoroughly trained and well-educated. By investing in comprehensive training and education programs, we can ensure that our law enforcement professionals are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and judgment needed to serve and protect our communities effectively. It's time to invest in our law enforcement; it’s time to invest in the future of public safety. Demilitarization of Law Enforcement As we move forward into a new era of policing, it's time to address the elephant in the room: what will happen to all of the surplus military gear issued to police departments, and how will they recover their acceptance within communities that fear them? By federally instituting uniform standards, uniting police forces under a shared framework, and emphasizing community support, de-escalation, and genuine problem solving, we can make our nation safe, and just. Adherence to Federal Standards Applying a standardized system, similar to the Uniform Code of Military Justice used by the armed forces, is one powerful way we can strengthen community trust, improve racial equity, and foster better overall relations between citizens and law enforcement officers. I am a veteran, citizen, and dreamer who believes in the future of this great nation and how that future can benefit all Americans, without it being at the expense of the few. I have been serving my country in one form or another my entire adult life and my only concern in politics is to hold the corrupt and powerful accountable for their many injustices committed against the American People! Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office? Together we can make possible the changes in our economy, society, and government that we need Accountability for the rich and powerful is not just possible, it is absolutely necessary Our government, her services, and institutions should universally serve the people not their own interests or that of the so called elite. What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? I am personally passionate about: Universal Health Care, Universal Education, Criminal Justice Reform, Worker's Rights Reform, and Reforming all of the institutions that are plagued with systemic racism or other forms of discrimination. Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy? You can watch any Super Hero, Dystopian Sci Fi, Rebel-esque movie or read any of those kinds of novels and understand that the protagonist constantly struggles against the villainy of either a government or tyrant. Our reality is no different than most fantasy adaptations. The Death Star was a large centralized government, with authoritarian policies, and religious influence being developed as a super weapon to deter any outside threat from rising up or challenging their authority. Yet when Luke Skywalker and the Rebel Alliance destroyed not 1 but 2 death stars everyone, universally cheered and understood that Good had been Achieved. harry Potter discusses racism and intolerance by pitting Pure Blood wizards and witches against Muggles and Muggleborn in the exact same way as Hitler and the Nazi's did against non-Aryan populations and with genocide against the Jewish population. If you want to reference non-fiction simply turn on the news and understand that Kids in Cages is wrong, Police murdering anyone in their custody violates \"Innocent until proven guilty\", that criminalizing Protest violates our 1st Amendment, and making \"Anti Capitalist\" Beliefs equal to terrorist activities is the exact same kind of horrific tyranny that is depicted in the above franchises. Read \"War is a Racket\", read Malcom X or Martin Luther King Jr., 1985, Fahrenheit 451, Scarlet Letter, A handmaid's Tale, To Kill a Mockingbird, the list goes on because throughout our history as humans, let alone Americans we have been at the forefront of almost every atrocity in the past 2 centuries. My political Philosophy is to ensure that, that never happens again, and that we make amends for the role we did play in all of those horrific actions. What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official? I have said it before and I will say it again: empathy and compassion. If you are elected to represent the masses and you have either never lived their experiences or simply don't care you have no business being in politics. What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder? If I had to assess myself in such a way I would say simply that I know what it is like to be a poor American in this country. I know what it is like to have lived paycheck to paycheck, to have to move back with family as an adult, to have faced financial hardship, the criminal justice system, and more. I have experienced a great deal of what many Americans go through every single day and I have a solid understanding on what would have helped me, and how that could be applicable to others. I am also observant of the communities around me and am well aware of the many hardships Americans face who have significantly different demographics than I do. I understand that privilege exists, and that other people's lived circumstances are significantly different than my own. In so many words, the quality I posses that would make me successful is understanding. What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office? Fighting tooth and nail to make society as accessible to the least among us as possible, and building infrastructure to facilitate the growth and prosperity of the many over the few. What legacy would you like to leave? One in which my efforts, empowered the many to achieve their goals and dreams such that none of us were left behind, and all of us were able to thrive. What was your very first job? How long did you have it? I was a paper boy at the age of 11 and I had it for the entire fall until my route started losing subscribers and it was no longer possible to actually deliver papers anymore! It was a little disheartening, but it was impossible for me to pick up a different route due to my age and how far away I would have had to go to deliver papers! If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be? Nightcrawler from the X-men! He's German and he can teleport anywhere in the world (later in the comics). To me, the ability to visit any place on Earth with just a thought would be incredible and especialyl without the hassle of travel or lodging haha! What is something that has been a struggle in your life? I would have to say the primary struggle in my life has been wanting to make a positive impact in my country and community and not having the resources to do so. I have had financial troubles thanks to economic crisis, I have had to face the criminal justice system and witness firsthand the unfettered power to ruin people's lives that it possesses, but none of these things compare to the despair that I and many of my generation feel when we think about our futures 1 year, 5 years, let alone 20 years from now. If we don't act now to change the way things are there won't be a future to fight over. What do you perceive to be the United States' greatest challenges as a nation over the next decade? Quite frankly the overwhelming amount of corruption and disregard for our nation's activities and how it impacts global communities or environments. The Arctic Circle had 100 degree temperatures for the first time in recorded history this year. Billionaires are admitting that they purchase Congressmen and Senators. Billionaires and Fortune 500 companies amassed $3.9 Trillion in wealth during the Covid pandemic while citizens lost $3.7 Trillion. These are not unrelated occurrences and if accountability is not enforced in the very near future there will not be a United States of America or an Earth to squabble over. What qualities does the U.S. Senate possess that makes it unique as an institution? The US Senate allows 1 person to represent their State, and likewise their fellow citizens for a period of 6 years, which allows for a sense of longevity and experience when making Legislative decisions. Furthermore the US Senate has different powers than the House and therefore can have a different kind of impact on the day to day lives of Americans everywhere not just their own state citizens. However, this longevity and lack of term limits allows the potential for corruption and abuse of powers that the Constitution does not allow for, but doesn't quite deny either. As we have seen for the past several years especially, 1 person can completely bottleneck the entire Federal Government and Legislative Process out of spite if that person is positioned appropriately. I would say that is a unique quality that needs to be addressed in the form of accountability, penalties, and term limits. Do you believe that it’s beneficial for senators to have previous experience in government or politics? No. Simply put having \"previous experience\" only further facilitates the \"elitism\" that permeates throughout Washington DC. Political office was always intended to be a service that members of the community underwent to better serve their community then go back to their lives. Currently politics is a major industry ran and operated by the wealthy and powerful on their own behalf. Politics is now a career with legalized corruption in the form of Lobbying, and money as free speech. If anything having previous experience in government or politics is indicative of a greater likelihood for corruption and not serving their constituents. I believe having an understanding of the needs of the People, or States respectively, and proposing legislation that addresses those concerns is significantly more important. In other words: empathy or compassion is the most important quality in an elected official, not experience. What do you think of the filibuster? I think it is a tool that has been abused on both sides, and should be retired. However, partisanship is the bigger issue considering a party with the will and determination to obstruct the Legislative Process can and will do so with or without the Filibuster. What needs to happen is Party Reform or how influential party affiliation can be allowed to be in the Legislative Process. What criteria would you apply when deciding whether to confirm presidential appointees? Whether or not they would serve the needs of citizens over the wants of the \"elite\". If you are not a current senator, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of? Personally, I would like to be a part of the: Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, Environment and Public Works, Commerce, Science, and Transportation, or Armed Services or any combination thereof. These are all the committees that I either have personal life experience with or passionate beliefs on how they can be used to serve the American People the best! Is there a particular senator, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after? I wouldn't say there is a particular senator I would want to model myself after but I would certainly like to work with Seantor's: Tammy Duckworth, Bernie Sanders, Ed Markey, and of course Ohio's own Sherrod Brown How would you evaluate a judicial nominee? I would evaluate them based on their merits, ethics, and understanding of an evolving society over time and the need to ensure that Judicial Rulings must either stand the test of time or flow with it. What kind of relationships would you build with other senators? That depends entirely upon the senators. If they truly fight for the American People and holding corrupt parties accountable I will be their friends and supporters. If not I will eviscerate them in any and every medium I can and undermine their every attempt to further subvert the Constitution or harm the American People in favor of elevating the wealthy even higher. Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking? It can be when that compromise results in a stronger overall policy, not when it is sacrificing moral, or ethical aspects of a policy or giving up provisions that would benefit the masses in favor of more benefits for the wealthy and powerful. For instance, the compromise on the CARES act was cutting a lot of the financial aid to over 150 million Americans in half while giving uninhibited trillions to corporations with the \"promise\" that those corporations wouldn't take the money and run. That is exactly what happened and we still are suffering economically as a nation today. Furthermore, there was not a single ounce of accountability held against the corporations that violated that trust or essentially stole the money granted to them that was meant for their workers.\nNote: Ballotpedia reserves the right to edit Candidate Connection survey responses.
