Acceptance

By accessing or using The Issues Party platform (“the platform”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

What the platform is

The Issues Party is a public civic information and action tool. It aggregates publicly available candidate and election data, displays accountability records sourced from public information and provides tools for citizens to signal their civic priorities to candidates.

The platform is not a news organisation, a political party, a campaign service or a polling platform.

Permitted use

• ✓You may use the platform to research candidates and races, follow civic developments and participate in coordinated civic action.
• ✓You may share links to candidate hubs, races and platform content.
• ✓You may use Ping scripts as provided — verbatim, with source attribution — to contact candidates via their public channels.

Prohibited use

• ✗Do not use the platform to harass, threaten or defame candidates, public officials or any other person.
• ✗Do not modify Ping scripts to include unsupported claims — including but not limited to: corrupt, bought, bribed, foreign agent, insider trading or any claim not supported by a cited source on the platform.
• ✗Do not use the platform to coordinate actions that violate applicable law.
• ✗Do not scrape, mirror or reproduce platform content without written permission.
• ✗Do not attempt to manipulate platform data, scores or follow counts.

Candidate data and accuracy

Candidate status labels (Committed, Opposed, Awaiting, etc.) reflect sourced public records reviewed by our editorial team. They are not legal determinations, endorsements or predictions.

We make reasonable efforts to maintain accuracy. Source labels appear per section. If you believe a record is incorrect, candidates and campaigns may initiate a correction via official X DM or Bluesky.

We do not guarantee that all data is current, complete or error-free.

Accounts and Signal Score

Your Signal Score is a platform-internal metric based on your civic activity on the platform. It does not constitute a credit score, endorsement or official certification of any kind.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used to manipulate platform data.

Intellectual property

Platform design, copy and original content are owned by The Issues Party. Candidate data sourced from FEC, Ballotpedia, OpenSecrets and Congress.gov remains subject to those sources' terms.

Ping scripts are provided for personal, non-commercial civic use. They may not be redistributed or used as the basis for commercial products without written permission.

Disclaimer

The platform is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the platform, reliance on platform data or participation in civic actions facilitated by the platform.

Use your own judgment. Civic participation carries responsibility.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated via the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
