Overview
The Issues Party (“we,” “us” or “our”) is a civic action platform. This policy explains what data we collect when you use the platform, how we use it and your rights regarding that data. We do not sell your personal information.
Data we collect
Email address, collected when you sign in via magic link. We do not collect passwords.
Which races and candidates you follow, and which candidate pings you initiate. Used to personalise your feed and compute your Signal Score.
Which types of alerts you opt into. Used to send relevant notifications.
Page views and anonymised interaction events, collected via Plausible Analytics — a privacy-first analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not track you across sites.
How we use your data
- ·Authenticate your account and maintain your session.
- ·Show you followed races and candidates on your /following page.
- ·Send alerts you have opted into (race date reminders, hub updates, Action Window notifications).
- ·Compute your Signal Score based on your civic activity.
- ·Improve the platform — we review anonymised aggregate usage patterns.
Data we do not collect

- ✓We do not track you across other websites.
- ✓We do not collect payment information — the platform is free.
- ✓We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Third-party services
Authentication and database. Your email and activity data is stored in Supabase (US-West-2 region). Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified.
Privacy-first analytics. No cookies, no cross-site tracking. All data is anonymised and aggregated.
Your rights
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us via X DM or Bluesky from an account you control. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Anonymised civic activity (aggregated ping counts, follow counts per race) may be retained for platform integrity after account deletion.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. This cookie is strictly necessary for authentication. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated via the platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
