Janet McNulty watched the news, shaking her head at the talking heads, wishing that someone, somewhere, would stand up and do the right thing. She put her faith in individuals who said all the right things, things she agreed with, only to be disappointed in the end as they turned into another career politician. She is tired of feeling used by those elected to represent her. She is tired of her behind being kissed every two years by politicians who only care about the next election.\r\n<p>Janet realized, that sometimes, you have to be that someone. She loves this country. She loves this state. This is why Janet McNulty is running for the United States Senate. Many individuals go into politics, hoping to turn it into a lucrative career, whether they hold the same seat for 40 years, like in the case of Nancy Pelosi, decide to serve 10 years (5 terms)</p><p><br/></p><p>Janet McNulty calling for term limits at the state level March 2022.</p><p><br/></p><p>in the House of Representatives before moving to the U.S. Senate, change parties just to win office with the intention of later making a jump into higher office, or hope to use current sentiment and the talking points of the day just to get into office at a young age and remain there, until he becomes part of the geriatric parade.</p><p><br/></p><p>In the end, there has been little turn-over in Congress, causing it to turn into a cesspool of career politicians—leading to an entrenched political class that rules over us instead of governs—passing useless and dangerous legislation (the Patriot Act, the proposal of an AI powered surveillance state withing the Big Beautiful Bill, and the Genius Act, which creates a back door for the creation of a Central Bank Digital Currency) that is more symbolism than substance or results in limiting our freedom as they pretend to be working for us.</p><p><br/></p><p>For the last 70 years, Congressional Representatives and Senators have turned into a class of people that care more about maintaining their position of power, choosing to do the bidding of massive corporations and lobbyists in return for campaign funds or help in their re-election bid or pursuit of higher office. For too long we have tried to replace them only to be stuck with another political prostitute.</p><p><br/></p><p>It is time for that to end.</p><p><br/></p><p>Janet McNulty proposes to do this by amending the U.S. Constitution. An example of such an amendment is as follows:</p><p><br/></p><p>Janet McNulty will push for a constitutional amendment that imposes term limits on all members of Congress from Day 1. It is time to end the reign of the career politician(s) and the entrenched political class.</p><p><br/></p><p>Support the 2nd Amendment</p><p>It has been said that the 1st Amendment is first for a reason, but the 2nd gives it teeth.</p><p><br/></p><p>A disarmed populace is an enslaved populace. People should never fear their government, and one of the hallmarks of a free society is one where the government respect the people. The Founders understood this and knew that one of the best measures for preventing an authoritarian government from harming the people is by preserving the right to self-defense. Perhaps George Mason said it best, “To disarm the people… was the best and most effectual way to enslave them.”</p><p class=\"mw-empty-elt\"> </p><p>This is why Janet McNulty will defend the 2nd Amendment because if we do not preserve our right to self-defense, we are not free.</p><p><br/></p><p>Private Property Protection</p><p>One of the principles this country was founded upon is the belief in the right to property. Unfortunately, our government has become increasingly hostile to the notion of private property protection with the continual expansion of the administrative state. But one attack on private property has gone virtually unnoticed by most: the concept of bank bail-ins.</p><p><br/></p><p>A bail-in is when the bank you entrust to hold your money takes what is in your account and uses it to bail itself out if it finds itself in financial trouble. The very concept of a bail-in makes it where your earned income, which you deposit into a bank account, ceases to be your private capital, i.e., private property, and makes it the bank’s property. Supposedly, banks can only seize the assets of accounts over $250,000 and can only take the amount that is above the FDIC insured $250,000.1 Here’s the thing: that can change.</p><p><br/></p><p>By making bail-ins legal with the passage of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Act, Congress blatantly attacked private property rights, but in a very sneaky way. It also sets the stage for further attacks on your assets. For instance, what if the bank that holds the mortgage on your house decides to take it, even if you are not behind on the payments, declaring it legally owns it so long as you owe a mortgage?</p><p><br/></p><p>Banks’ ability to do bail-ins needs to be rescinded. Your earned income is your private property and deserves protection from theft.</p><p><br/></p><p>Central Bank Digital Currency</p><p>(CBDC)</p><p>Your money is your property, and this is why—which also applies to any cryptocurrency you own—the rise of central bank digital currency (CBDC) needs to be addressed. President Biden signed an executive order allowing the Federal Reserve to look into the creation of a CBDC by creating a digital dollar, which has since given us the FedNow Service, setting the stage for centralized banking. Under a CBDC, the government centralizes digital banking, and just like when you deposit money into a bank, any deposits or assets held in the CBDC cease to be your property and become the government’s. With a CBDC, the government can take your assets or control where you spend them.</p><p><br/></p><p>Remember the trucker protest in Canada? The Canadian banks froze the accounts of anyone connected to the protest. The creation of a CBDC will make it easier for anyone within the government to control your actions by holding your assets hostage, deciding where you spend, what you buy, and how much you can spend. Basically, the creation of a CBDC allows government bureaucrats to control you.</p><p><br/></p><p>This is why Janet McNulty is against CBDCs or any centralized banking. Your money and your assets are your property, and no one, especially not the government, has any right to them.</p><p><br/></p><p>Some will claim that the issue of a CBDC has been dealt with, but it hasn’t. H.R. 3712, the Digital Dollar Pilot Prevention Act, is a worthless bill that is more showmanship than substance. The bill itself only says that the Federal Reserve cannot create a digital dollar or a pilot program for the creation of a digital dollar; however, it does not prevent the president from creating a digital dollar by executive order, nor does it stop Congress from creating a digital dollar; the FedNow program still exists; banks can still legally seize your money; and banks can still lock you out of your account. The bill itself was proposed by a man desperate to get elected to the U.S. Senate. His warning was simple: showing favoritism to one nation makes you a slave to that nation and will cause those entrusted with securing America to betray their own country in favor of their chosen nation while claiming that they have a moral obligation to do so.</p><p><br/></p><p>Throughout the later half of the 20th century, the U.S. has been involved in one foreign entanglement after another, with the most recent examples being Ukraine and Israel. We have given over $75 billion in aid, most of it military and financial, to Ukraine to protect their borders. Most of the money was used by those within the Ukrainian government to buy mansions, and most of the equipment we sent was lost, with no plans by the Biden Administration to replace it. We sent them tanks, anti-aircraft missiles, and surveillance and radar systems, weakening ourselves and leaving ourselves defenseless. We are about to make the same mistake with Israel.</p><p><br/></p><p>With over $38 trillion in debt, we do not have money to spare. Our borders, northern and southern, are wide open, and there are no plans to change that. Most of our military is stationed overseas for the security of other nations, while America remains unprotected.</p><p><br/></p><p>It’s time to end this nonsense!</p><p><br/></p><p>The only moral obligations America's elected leaders have are to the U.S. Constitution and to the United States, both of which they swear to uphold and protect. This is where Janet McNulty's obligation lies.</p><p><br/></p><p>Social Security</p><p>First, Social Security needs to be turned back into a trust fund like it was when it was first established and before the Democrat Party, under LBJ, raided it to pay for his Great Society programs and the War on Poverty.</p><p><br/></p><p>Second, people should be allowed to pass what remains in their Social Security account to their descendant or another recipient of their choosing. The money you pay into Social Security is yours, not the governments; therefore, you should have control over it.</p><p><br/></p><p>Third, Social Security benefits should not be considered taxable income. In 1983, Congress passed a bill that allowed Social Security benefits for households above a certain income threshold to be taxed at a rate of up to 50%.(1) In 1993, Congress increased the tax rate on Social Security benefits to 85% for households with higher incomes.(2) It’s time to repeal both.</p><p><br/></p><p>Education</p><p>It is time to eliminate the U.S. Department of Education. And though President Trump has issued an executive order to do this, executive orders can be reversed by future presidents, which is why Congress needs to pass legislation that permanently defunds the Federal Department of Education. The federal Department of Education is not only unconstitutional and a massive power grab by the federal government, but it was established during the Carter Administration as a pay off to the teacher’s unions. Since then, the quality of education within the U.S. has gotten exponentially worse despite the hundreds of billions of dollars we spend. The U.S. ranks very low when it comes to reading, math, and science when compared to the rest of the world. Our students know more about drag shows and transgenderism than they do about the history of their own country and lack basic comprehension and reasoning skills. Our education system operates on a one-size-fits-all policy, which often promotes the ideology of the current administration.</p><p><br/></p><p>We’ve done it before. In 1867, President Andrew Johnson signed the Department of Education Act. It was supposed to be limited in its power, collecting only “statistics and facts as shall show the condition and progress of education in the United States.” However, it was short-lived and gotten rid of.</p><p><br/></p><p>Whenever the federal government gives money to the states, it comes with strings attached. This is very evident in education. In order for states to get federal funds for education, they have to accept the Department of Education’s rules and regulations regarding what the states, localities, and schools can do.</p><p><br/></p><p>Every state, every county has different needs, which is why education needs to be decentralized and control of it given back to the states and their individual counties, cities, and towns.</p><p><br/></p><p>In addition, the entire education system needs to be revamped to include training in prompt engineering. The current education system is geared for an industrialized economy that no longer exists. With the advent of AI, the job market is changing again, and we need to make sure that the next generation is prepared.</p><p><br/></p><p>Protect the Border</p><p>Border security is not a Democrat issue, nor is it a Republican issue. It is an American issue.</p><p><br/></p><p>For years, politicians have gone back and forth on the border, with some wanting to close it while others wish to leave it open. A nation that refuses to secure its own borders is doomed to fall victim to invasion. We are being invaded by foreign nationals, many of whom are military-age men.</p><p><br/></p><p>President Biden’s current border policy is not only reckless but also a complete violation of his constitutional duties to secure the nation from foreign invasion.</p><p class=\"mw-empty-elt\"> </p><p>When the president puts our sovereignty at risk through the opening of our borders, Congress needs to overturn it and not pay lip service to it or conduct theatrical displays of visiting the border to address the crises.</p><p><br/></p><p>Janet McNulty supports closing both the southern and northern borders until the current influx of illegal immigration is under control. After which, all immigrants will be forced to go through a port of entry, where they will go through an extensive background check to ensure that they are not criminal, are not participating in drug trafficking, and are not participating in human trafficking.</p><p><br/></p><p>Janet McNulty supports the deportation of illegal immigrants through the use of traffic stops. If, when pulled over, the individual is an illegal immigrant, he or she will be detained. A person will only be pulled over if a traffic violation is committed, so civil liberties will remain protected. This can serve as a model for other states.</p><p><br/></p><p>Artificial Intelligence</p><p>Science fiction has become science fact. Artificial intelligence (AI) is here, and it’s on the rise, with companies turning toward it to use it for tasks normally done by people. Between ChatGP and Amazon’s Q, it is clear that AI is here to stay. China has announced its intention to mass produce humanoid robots, each fitted with AI. It is already being used to help write software, with plans to use it for manual labor jobs as well. It won’t be long before it is used in our homes on a regular basis, used for law enforcement, and used for the military.</p><p><br/></p><p>AI is an issue we need to address.</p><p><br/></p><p>A good place to start is Asimov’s three rules for robots. We need to make certain that, if used in a law enforcement capacity, AI will not violate our constitutional or civil liberties. We need to make certain that people’s jobs are not replaced by AI. This is why I will support legislation that addresses these issues concerning the use of AI.</p><p><br/></p><p>We also need to be aware the there are those within government who wish to set up an AI powered surveillance state. Such a notion is a complete violation of our personal liberties and must be stopped. They never stayed in one place because her mother’s job required the family to move from time to time, allowing Janet the opportunity to live in places such as Nevada, Nebraska, and Montana. She attended Northern State University in South Dakota where she graduated in December 2006 with a B.A. in History. Following graduation, Janet moved to West Virginia for a job offer that fell through, beginning an eight-year period of unemployment where she took any temporary job she could just to pay bills. Foreign Entanglements Washington warned about the dangers of foreign involvement in his Farewell Address of 1796. His warning was simple: showing favoritism to one nation makes you a slave to that nation and will cause those entrusted with securing America to betray their own country in favor of their chosen nation while claiming that they have a moral obligation to do so. Throughout the later half of the 20th century, the U.S. has been involved in one foreign entanglement after another, with the most recent examples being Ukraine and Israel. We have given over $75 billion in aid, most of it military and financial, to Ukraine to protect their borders. The federal Department of Education is not only unconstitutional and a massive power grab by the federal government, but it was established during the Carter Administration as a pay off to the teacher’s unions. Whenever the federal government gives money to the states, it comes with strings attached. This is very evident in education. In order for states to get federal funds for education, they have to accept the Department of Education’s rules and regulations regarding what the states, localities, and schools can do. Every state, every county has different needs, which is why education needs to be decentralized and control of it given back to the states and their individual counties, cities, and towns. In addition, the entire education system needs to be revamped to include training in prompt engineering. The current education system is geared for an industrialized economy that no longer exists. With the advent of AI, the job market is changing again, and we need to make sure that the next generation is prepared. Protect the Border Border security is not a Democrat issue, nor is it a Republican issue. It is an American issue. For years, politicians have gone back and forth on the border, with some wanting to close it while others wish to leave it open. A nation that refuses to secure its own borders is doomed to fall victim to invasion. We are being invaded by foreign nationals, many of whom are military-age men. I attended Northern State University in South Dakota where I graduated in December 2006 with a B.A. in History. Following graduation, I moved to West Virginia for a job offer that fell through, beginning an eight-year period of unemployment where I took any temporary job I could just to pay bills. In the past three years I studied IT at Southern New Hampshire University and graduated in 2021 with a M.S. in Information Technology. Currently, I work full time in a grocery store as I pursue opportunities to use my degree.\r\nI do not come from wealth. I’ve worked hard every day since I was 16 and understand the value of hard work and sacrifice. I never wanted a career in politics and have tried to run away from it, but the last two years showed me that we have career politicians, many of whom come from wealthy and well-connected families, who believe that they own us and can run our lives for us and who have been in politics my entire lifetime. We also do not need future career politicians. Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office? A Younger, yet Mature, Generation Accepting the Responsibility to Protect Our Individual Liberty. Protect the Second Amendment. Protect the Private Property Rights of West Virginians. What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? I am against vaccine mandates and vaccine passports. We are all individuals and have the inherent right to determine what goes inside our own bodies. No one should be forced to choose between their job and putting something they are uncomfortable with in their bodies, nor should your liberties be held hostage until you comply with a mandate issued by a bureaucracy that answers to no one and by a government that never follows its own dictates. I am against political dynasties. Our government is meant to be of, by, and for the people, but what we have is a government of, by, and for the political elites and well connected. It is time for real people to stand up and govern themselves. This is why I intend to make it illegal for the immediate family member of a current office holder to be able to run for that same seat during the first term that it is vacant, this way it does not get passed down like some sort of family heirloom. Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why? I look up to my parents. They have always been there to help me through hardship and offer advice. They also taught me the value of hard work and the self-reliance needed to overcome adversity. My parents were never helicopter parents. As far as public figures go, I admire the way Donald Trump did not pretend to be someone he wasn't when he ran for the office of the presidency. He was, at the very least, sincere. What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder? I'm straightforward and don't mince words. I work hard and am dedicated to my tasks. What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office? The responsibility of any representative is to give the people their voice and their judgement. What legacy would you like to leave? A Subaru. What is the first historical event that happened in your lifetime that you remember? How old were you at the time? Kosovo in 1999. I was 15 years old. What was your very first job? How long did you have it? Taco John's in Glasgow Montana. worked there for two years and left after high school graduation to attend college. What is your favorite book? Why? I read a lot of books and it is difficult for me to narrow it down to a single favorite, but some of the ones I have read more than once are The Hobbit, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Fahrenheit 451, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Tree of Liberty, and Solaris Seethes. All of these stories cover themes, such as, standing up for what is right, courage, helping others, and how hatred can tear us apart. If you could be any fictional character, who would you want to be? Why would I want to be something that isn't real? I would rather be myself. Fictional characters and the stories woven around them can and do inspire us, but it is better to use the lessons they've learned and enrich your life. What is something that has been a struggle in your life? Starting and sustaining a career in my field of study. What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature? The governor and the state legislature are equals and they each check the other. The governor is the executive of the state and is charged with enforcing the laws passed by the state legislature and signed into law by him. He is also charged with providing leadership for the state as a whole and charged with protecting the individual rights of citizens. Both are to uphold the U.S. Constitution and the State Constitution. What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade? The greatest challenge is developing new income streams for the state of West Virginia that is not solely dependent upon mineral extraction. We need to expand our economy to include light manufacturing (textile, small home appliances, or car manufacturing), technology development, and tourism. West Virginia has a treasure trove of natural attractions that can be turned into state parks and used to encourage tourism within the state. What are the benefits and drawbacks of a unicameral state legislature, in your opinion? I believe that there is no benefit to a unicameral legislature. In a unicameral legislature, like what Nebraska has, can pass anything it wishes with any checks or balances. This is why I believe strongly in a bicameral legislature. West Virginia has such a legislature, made up of the House of Delegate and the Senate. The House represents the people and sometimes be a bunch of hotheads passing several pieces of legislation with no regard for the consequences. The purpose of the Senate is to slow it down encourage all parties within the legislature to work together to do what is in the best interest of the state and her people. Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics? What a loaded question. Anyone running for office for the first time will have no prior experience in government of politics. Any individual who does probably comes from a political dynasty and has been groomed since birth for such a career. No, previous experience in government or politics is not needed when serving in the state legislature. Life experience is. Maturity is needed. A person seeking to serve must understand humility and the responsibility they will bear. Getting bitch-slapped by life a few times teaches you that. Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer. Yes. You will be working with them throughout your term. If you don't build a repoire with other legislatures, none of you will do what is in the best interest of the state. What process do you favor for redistricting? Honesty. Redistricting should be population based only and the district lines should be a straight as possible. gerrymandering should not be allowed. It is dishonest and cheating. The districts should never be redesigned to get certain parties of officeholders out of office. If you are not a current legislator, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of? At this point, I do not have a desired committee position. If you are a current legislator, what appealed to you about your current committees? I am not a current legislator. Is there a particular legislator, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after? No. Are you interested in running for a different political office (for example, the U.S. Congress or governor) in the future? Yes. I have toyed with the idea of running for the U.S. Senate. That could change in the future. Should the legislature oversee or grant the use of emergency powers? To avoid abuse of power, as has been seen in Michigan under Governor Whitmer, the legislature should over see the use of emergency powers. Any emergency powers granted to the governor should have an expiration date, at which point the legislature will determine if the continued use of emergency powers is warranted, and even that will have an expiration date. Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking? I believe that people should not compromise for the sake of compromise or for the sake appearing bi-partisan. Sometimes compromise is necessary. This is an indisputable fact. Even the Founders realized this. But compromise should never come at the expense of your principles.
