So is our social safety net. When my family first came to this country, we had nothing. I ate as a child because of food stamps and I got my shots because of Medicaid. I learned English in our public school system. And I want to make sure the same opportunities that allowed my sister to become a nurse, my brother to become a Captain in the Air Force, and me to become an attorney are preserved and expanded for all Americans. Finally, I want to make sure our government treats every person in this Nation equally. As a chicken farmer, I'd have a lot to say on the Agriculture Committee, and could use my seat at that table to safeguard SNAP (food stamps) and other programs.
