Congress recently considered but rejected efforts to restrain the president’s war powers, even as concerns grew that the United States was being pulled deeper into another Middle East conflict without proper authorization.</p><p><br/></p><p>No administration should place itself above the law or above the constitutional separation of powers. Doing so is morally wrong, ethically indefensible, and contrary to the principles our government is meant to uphold.
