After graduating from Mount Holyoke College in three years, she taught in the public schools of the Marshall Islands, a Pacific island nation confronting the legacy of U.S. nuclear testing and the impacts of climate change. Beginning in 2015, Beriont helped organize and unionize Harvard's graduate student workers, ultimately winning higher wages, childcare subsidies, and anti-retaliation protections for thousands of workers. She earned a Masters degree in Religion, Ethics, and Politics from Harvard Divinity School and a Ph.D. from Harvard. Since 2022, she has taught about the intersections of US history and religion at the Harvard Kennedy School, examining immigration, climate, labor, education, LGBTQ+ rights, and foreign policy. As Chair of the Hampton Select Board, she hears it daily: residents choosing between heating their homes and paying property taxes, parents counting the days until both kids are in kindergarten, families battling insurance over care that should be covered. She'll fight to fully fund IDEA and lower property taxes, pass Medicare for All, cap childcare at 7% of family income, raise the federal minimum wage, build the housing and infrastructure NH needs, and pass commonsense gun safety laws. A union organizer who helped found UAW Local 5118, she knows a government that works for working people is the only kind worth fighting for.</li><li>Our democracy is in crisis, and more of the same won't fix it.
