I was born in Leavenworth, KS, the only daughter out of five children to parents who both worked two jobs to make ends meet for most of my childhood. I went to the University of Minnesota on scholarship through their American Indian Scholars Program and Pell grants. I worked full time for a community loan program through my college career, igniting my lifelong interest in community support programs. I went on to work for social service programs throughout my 20s. \r\n<p>I have raised my family in KS-03, buying our first home in old KCK’s Westheight neighborhood. Eventually moving to Prairie Village then Overland Park and now to our home in Fairway. In that time, I started my own consulting business, ran a community aid organization, and won contracts with companies like Cerner and Siemens.
