Here’s a polished, professional Ballotpedia-style biography that positions you strongly while staying factual, grounded, and compelling: --- Traci George** Traci George is a business owner, community advocate, and congressional candidate dedicated to expanding economic opportunity, strengthening families, and building sustainable pathways to success across Georgia’s 12th Congressional District. With a background rooted in entrepreneurship, public service, and lived experience, George brings a practical, solutions-oriented approach to leadership shaped by resilience, faith, and a deep commitment to her community.\r\nGeorge was raised with a strong understanding of the value of hard work, service, and perseverance. Her life experiences—particularly as a single mother, a member of a military family, and a woman who has navigated personal loss—have shaped her perspective on leadership and public policy. These experiences inform her belief that government should function as a tool to create access, remove barriers, and empower individuals and families to thrive. Professionally, George is the founder and owner of Indigo Honor Society, a company focused on remote field organizing and community engagement. Through this work, she has helped mobilize communities, build grassroots infrastructure, and connect individuals to civic participation opportunities. Her leadership in this space reflects a broader commitment to ensuring that everyday voices are not only heard but are actively Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office? Access to affordable, high-quality healthcare remains a central issue for individuals and families across Georgia’s 12th Congressional District. Personal experiences navigating the healthcare system—as a working mother, caregiver, and someone who has faced loss—have shaped an understanding of how gaps in access, affordability, and coordination of care affect everyday life.\r\nAccess to providers continues to be a challenge in both rural and urban communities. Some areas face shortages of primary care physicians, mental health professionals, and specialists, while others require patients to travel long distances for care. These realities highlight the importance of strengthening community health systems, supporting rural healthcare infrastructu Economic opportunity plays a central role in shaping the stability and growth of individuals and communities. As a small business owner and founder of Indigo Honor Society, experience in entrepreneurship has provided me direct insight into both the opportunities and challenges associated with building and sustaining a business.\r\nBy focusing on practical solutions that support individuals and businesses, economic policy can respond more effectively to real-world conditions. Economic opportunity is also tied to access and equity. Collaboration among educators, employers, policymakers, and community leaders plays an important role in creating systems that support sustainable growth and upward mobility. Ensuring everyone rises. Support for military families and veterans is an important priority in communities with strong ties to service. As part of a military family, there is personal understanding of the challenges associated with service, including frequent relocations, career transitions, and reintegration into civilian life.\r\nEmployment and career transitions are also significant considerations. Veterans often face challenges related to translating military experience into civilian credentials and securing stable employment. Programs that provide job training, career counseling, and education support can help ease this transition. Military spouses may also face employment disruptions due to frequent moves, making workforce flexibility an important factor. What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Expansion of the ACA (price negotiation on prescription drugs, lowering premiums, clear price transparency for hospitals and insurers) SBA loan expansion and simplified access. Rural economic development. Simplification of small business compliance. Childcare tax credits. Transportation infrastructure. VA Healthcare system expansion. Spouse employment protections. VA Mental Health supports. Veteran homelessness reduction. Improve disability claim processing. Increase Title I Funding. Teacher pay incentives. Early Childhood education expansion. CTE funding expansion. Free community college proposals. School broadband and digital access. Military child education continuity policies across state lines. What organizations or individuals have endorsed your campaign? I look up to my Grandmother, Mrs. Gladys S. Acree. She raised 5 young kids as a single mom upon the death of her husband. Each of them grew into very productive and successful citizens. What was the last song that got stuck in your head? Baby Shark What do you believe is the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature? In any relationship trust and communication are paramount. Proper steps to show integrity of governance should be performed by each legislative body through clear communication. What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade? I believe the state of Georgia is on the verge of becoming the Hollywood of the south. With this new industry growth will bring in new residents who will set a demand for my home state to move from its conservative position and become the true beacon of economic, transportation, environmental justice. Do you believe that it’s beneficial for state legislators to have previous experience in government or politics? While it could have its advantage for legislators to have political experience, I believe that a representative should reflect the electorate of which it serves. The common layman does not have dealings in government. A state legislator just needs to be savvy enough to ensure that the constituents needs are being met and that message is relied back to them. Do you believe it’s beneficial to build relationships with other legislators? Please explain your answer. It is absolutely key to have working relationships with other team mates. The prevailing interest of legislators are their constituents. With this commonality of service each legislator can find a mutual point of agreement. What process do you favor for redistricting? I think waiting ten years for lines to be redrawn does not best reflect the highly transitional communities of interest that are developing across our nation. District lines should be drawn fairly by law. District lines should be determined by the local majority. District lines should be drawn after taking input from the citizens within the district. If you are not a current legislator, are there certain committees that you would want to be a part of? My committee interest are Education, Creative Arts & Entertainment and Small Business Development Is there a particular legislator, past or present, whom you want to model yourself after? Certainly, I would pattern myself after former POTUS Barack Obama. My model would be Stacey Abrams! Are you interested in running for a different political office (for example, the U.S. Congress or governor) in the future? I am taking it one day at a time for now. I want to always remain in service to my community. If those I represent would like to continue to see me in elected public service then I remain there. Both sitting legislators and candidates for office hear many personal stories from the residents of their district. Is there a story that you’ve heard that you found particularly touching, memorable, or impactful? From a single mom I heard that she had to make the painful choice of not returning to work during COVID as she could not afford childcare as school was virtual. Childcare should be allotted so that moms can earn a living. Even if we make work skill courses available to older children to empower them to be available to watch the younger ones. Do you believe that compromise is necessary or desirable for policymaking? I do believe that negotiations should be made to keep all stakeholders' interest managed. However for the good of the common there will be some give and take.\nNote: Ballotpedia reserves the right to edit Candidate Connection survey responses.
