Through them, I saw how federal funding could support people who make that investment. My sister’s a labor and delivery nurse in Georgia who works with the women our government neglects. She sees how our 6-week abortion ban hurts women, and this fuels me to overturn the Dobbs decision.\r\n</p><p>I grew up having to perform active shooter drills, and I’m very familiar with the fear our school children and faculty feel today. This is why I will fight for safer gun legislation. I’m a proud Double Dawg and recipient of Georgia’s HOPE scholarship. HOPE drastically reduced the financial stress of my college education, and is why I will fight for free tuition for our public colleges and universities. Finally, from studying at the London School of Economics and living in London, I experienced a different form of government and a stronger social safety net. This is why I will hold our current administration accountable and advocate for free universal healthcare. \r\n</p>\nMy experience as a community organizer and in local government has prepared me to be a representative for Georgia 9. I’ve worked at the individual level with people asking their government to do more.
