Like many families across the state, his family faced real challenges, sitting in a sweltering home when the electricity bill was too high to keep the air on, relying on free school lunch, living with the threat of homelessness, and struggling to access healthcare. Those experiences continue to drive his commitment to public service. Jayson built his career at the intersection of health, energy, education, and responsible governance. He is currently a PhD candidate at Stanford University’s Doerr School of Sustainability, where his research focuses on how severe weather and power outages impact health and local economies, and how smart energy investments can lower costs, improve reliability, and protect health. He holds degrees from the University of Michigan, Harvard University, and an MBA.
