But reform must go further.\r\n<p>We need open primaries, ranked-choice voting, and independent redistricting commissions.\r\nPublic office must not be a path to private enrichment or a career. I support banning stock trading in Congress, requiring blind trusts, imposing strict post-service lobbying bans, and establishing term limits.\r\nWe must also restore constitutional balance. Congress must reclaim its authority over war. \r\n</p>\nNo president should stand above the law. Emergency powers must be constrained. And the Fourth Amendment must protect Americans not only from government overreach, but from corporate surveillance as well.</li><li>Restore fairness- We need a tax system that reflects that reality. That means restoring strong progressive taxation at the very top, closing corporate loopholes, reinstating meaningful inheritance taxes on massive dynastic wealth, and fully funding Social Security by removing the payroll cap.\r\nHealth care should not bankrupt families, it should be a benefit of citizenship in the richest country on earth. Paid family leave should not be a luxury, it should be something that all parents and their children get to enjoy. Public college and trade schools should be tuition-free with strict accountability to prevent waste and administrative bloat.\r\nWe should also expand opportunities for national service.</li><li>Rebuild for the next generation- We need stronger clean air and clean water protections, safeguards for aquifers and freshwater resources, aggressive cleanup of contaminated sites, and resilient infrastructure investments that protect coastal communities. \r\nEnergy policy must be serious and science-based. Ratepayers should not be captive to monopoly utilities that prioritize guaranteed profits over affordability and reliability. \r\nRebuilding also requires confronting our national debt honestly. Our federal debt now exceeds post–World War II levels as a percentage of GDP.
