For more than 30 years I’ve worked with families across California as a health professional and clinician. My most valuable skills were learning to listen and problem solve. \r\n<p>In healthcare, when systems stop working together:\r\n•\tPeople suffer.\r\n•\tPrevention gets ignored, \r\n•\tProblems get worse, and \r\n•\tTrust breaks down.\r\nUnfortunately, Washington today suffers from the same kind of dysfunction.\r\n</p><p>When I work with a patient or a student, I don’t ASK their politics. I don’t care. I just want to know what their problems are and I how I can help find solutions. \r\n</p><p>My career has been about solving problems before they become crises:\r\n•\tFocusing on prevention, \r\n•\tListening to people, and \r\n•\tBuilding practical solutions that actually work.\r\nI’m running for Congress to bring this problem-solving approach back to Washington. \r\n</p><p>Imagine government like a dam built upstream from healthy families and communities. That dam must be tended to because IF it breaks, it destroys everything good below it.
