Candidates for major political office should be required to do debates and town halls as to not be able to HIDE from the People… 20 yrs. in public office and Mike Turner does not do debates or town halls Even playing field- All candidates get the same amount of money to campaign with Get rid of Super Delegates from the Democratic Primary system We need ranked choice voting in order to uplift Independents and 3rd party candidates End Citizens United and get dark money out of politics Expand polling locations and staff so no one has to wait in line, voting needs to be quick and easy Election Day needs to be paid Holiday and citizens should get $100 tax credit to encourage voter turnout Lower the voting age to 16- We have a major problem in our democracy with the Youth not participating, if we get kids involved voting at an earlier age and being taught about the importance of voting while in high school, it would increase the likelihood of them participating in the future. Lets be real, we trust them to drive next to us on the road, work full time in society, and even be young parents with kids of their own… I think they are more then capable and highly motivated to have a say in the Real World they are already participating in. The benefits of increased voter participation in society would outweigh the consequences of increased less educated voters participating Education Our General Education system is underfunded and not working. Kids are graduating from high school without basic knowledge of important subjects and life skills. With that lack of knowledge comes a life full of financial burdens and life problems that could otherwise be eliminated thru a more functional general education system. Our teachers and students should be our nations highest spending priority. Federal government needs to fund education completely rather then pass that onto the working class thru property tax levies year after year. Need to offer students more valuable educational pathways to students most at risk of dropping out. High School- Needs to offer a variety of new courses to set up our youth for success as adults with focus in helpful life skills and mental/emotional well being Desperately needed areas of study- how to manage money, the Law, how to get elected to political office, proper nutrition and lifestyle habits, automotive, HVAC, how to grow food to feed yourself/family, Emotional Intelligence, Business Entrepreneurship Teaching should be one of the highest paying fields in the U.S., Raise All Teachers Pay Now!
