Although compromise is necessary for policymaking, the people's inalienable rights should never be a point of compromise. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: The U.S. House of Representatives possesses the unique honor and responsibility of the nation's budget. With this responsibility, decisions for allocating funds to public education, setting the national standard for minimum wage, and how our wage, and how our tax monies are reinvested towards the good and progress of the people. This unique honor includes decisions about for aid, and how that aid be utilized. With this position, we have the responsibility to aid in the safety and health of those receiving the aid, as well as, how those funds could be misused and recourse for violating the use of funds. PUBLIC EDUCATOR: Sadi was a public education teacher ranging from pre-kindergarten through high school students in both the general and special education classroom settings. Sadi graduated with a specialization in reading and achieved behavioral specialization in her career. Sadi is now pouring her education and experience into being her daughter's homeschool teacher. She is both her favorite and most challenging student. She's incredibly intelligent, keeps her on her toes, and she enjoy the adventure. PRO CHOICE INITIATIVES: Sadi is the founder of ProChoice With Heart- Gulf Coast. Established in May of 2022. We are a grassroots organization dedicated to fighting for reproductive rights, justice, and freedom through education of legislation. Our mission is to connect reproductive rights: grassroots activists, organizations, and groups across the gulf coast region to strengthen the fight for reproductive freedom. We provide information about Louisiana state bills and elected officials and candidates who support and attack reproductive rights. We also provide information about legislative actions around the nation to ensure the American people know safe states to access healthcare and the level of hostility in states that are enforcing reproductive bans. Whether pro-choice or pro-life, these bans have had devastating effects on maternal and infant mortality, criminalizes miscarriages, and limits access to general reproductive care - whether this is cancer screening or health management. Sadi will work diligently to secure and enshrine body autonomy and reproductive freedom for all. PUBLIC EDUCATION: Before becoming an activists for reproductive rights, Sadi was a public education teacher. Sadi have a Master's of Education and believe in the public education system. Public education has been under attack in Louisiana: funds and resources severely cut, teachers are being targeted for political attacks, and students fear for their safety. This is unacceptable. A well-funded, well-supported, research-based education system free and accessible for all children is fundamental in moving towards a more equitable society. Sadi will fight for public education to have the needed funds and resources, and fight to include early childhood and upper education a part of the public school system and accessible for all. WORKERS' RIGHTS: Sadi supports workers' rights and fair pay, both of which are long overdue for Louisiana's hard-working people. Sadi was hired for her first job at the age of 16 and was paid the minimum wage at the time: $7.15 an hour. Sadi is now 40-years old, and the minimum wage has risen to $7.25 an hour. Ten cents in over two decades is an unacceptable rate of growth, and has allowed for businesses and corporations to take precedence over the people. After all, a business cannot function without people stocking the shelves, manning the cash registers, or ensuring a clean space. Sadi believes we have the right to be fairly paid, to have job security, safety while working, food breaks, and the ability to not only afford healthcare - but the opportunity to go.
