More police training, mandate body cameras, update data collection, and hold those officers irresponsible to account.</dd></dl>\n<dl><dd>Second, rebuild trust between our community and our police officers. Police should not always reveal themselves during stings. They should be seen not only patrolling our community, but reside with us as well.</dd></dl>\n<dl><dd>Third, when a life in our community ends at the hands of our police, ensure thorough and transparent investigations and prosecutions.</dd></dl>\n<dl><dd>Finally, these improvements in policing, justice, and law enforcement are doable and can be accomplished. However, trust is not only crucial , but paramount.</dd></dl>\n<ul><li><b>John Lewis Voting Rights Act</b></li></ul>\n<dl><dd>No man or woman should be denied the constitutional right to vote because of race or geographical location.</dd></dl>\n<dl><dd>I strongly support The John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2021 which is proposed legislation that would restore and strengthen parts of the Voting Rights Act of 1965, although certain portions of which were struck down by two United States Supreme Court decisions of Shelby County v. Holder and Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee. I will work diligently with colleagues in passing the legislation.</dd></dl>\n<ul><li><b>Pathway to Citizenship</b></li></ul>\n<dl><dd>The path to citizenship, I believe, would give immigrants five years of provisional status, after which they could apply for temporary status.
